ITALO9JA started with two sisters, two cultures and one idea. Not a boardroom, not a business plan — a conversation about identity that turned into a brand.
They're building it while being homeschooled: learning business by actually running one. Every design, every customer, every mistake and every sale becomes part of the journey.

Nigerian and Italian heritage sit side by side in everything we make — in colour, in language, in the details you only notice the second time you look.
We don't treat heritage as a costume. We treat it as a starting point.
WHY ROOTED NOT STUCK
Rooted not stuck.
Rooted means proud of where you're from. Stuck means letting your origins, labels or other people's expectations decide how far you can go. You can be one without being the other. That's the whole brand.
WHY WE STARTED
Nobody was making it for us.
Mixed identity, diaspora, belonging — most people we know live it, and almost nothing on the high street speaks to it without turning it into a cliché.
So we made the clothes we wanted to wear, and we made them properly.

A brand, not a shop.
Selected ITALO9JA pieces are made after you order, so we're not sitting on mountains of unsold stock — we can put everything into design and quality instead.
The goal isn't the biggest catalogue. It's the first 100 people who genuinely want to wear this.
